GENERAL MEMBERSHIP MEETING
NEW BUSINESS
OVERTIME:
J.K. Muller encouraged members of the POA
to sign up for posted overtime for regular shifts as well as special
events to avoid being mandated at an inconvenient time. The U.S. Open
Surfing Contest, July 30-31, 2005, overtime board passed around.
SETTLEMENT OFFER:
Presentation made by Steve Silver to
explain the Settlement Agreement reached between the City and the various
employee bargaining units of the City. Letters had been sent to all
affected members with the calculated settlement owed to each employee.
A brief history reviewing how long the
miscalculations have possibly been occurring (since the late 1980’s) and
came to light by Mike Perry, HBFA and R. Reinhart in our negotiations
several years ago. The City ultimately reviewed the matter further and
agreed to an error in miscalculations. The ‘Settlement Agreement’ avoids
any litigation in the matter.
Discussion held with some questions and
answers being addressed from the group.
For the POA a motion was made by R.
Wright and C. Bales to have the Board of Directors accept the proposed
‘Settlement Agreement’ between the POA and City, motion carried. J.K.
Muller will handle on behalf of the POA.
