Board of Director's -- SEPTEMBER -- Regular Meeting
CALL TO ORDER: Wednesday, September 8, 2004 - President R. Reinhart
convened the meeting to order at 15:20 hours.
ROLL CALL: R. Reinhart, President; J.K. Muller, Vice-President; J. Huss,
Secretary; D. Hashin, Treasurer; A. Preece, Sergeant-at-Arms/ Director; C.
Bales, Director; E.N. Evenson, Director; J. Nelson, Director, J. Allard,
Director; C. Nesmith, Director.
OTHER MEMBERS PRESENT: D. Hashin, Chief Financial Officer.
GUESTS: None.
MINUTES: No Minutes presented.
TREASURER REPORT: Treasurer's report presented and explained by D. Hashin,
CFO. Report accepted on a motion by J.K. Muller and J. Nelson, with all
concurring.
OLD BUSINESS
PORAC CONFERENCE: PORAC's 52nd Annual Conference in Monterey, CA on
November 19-21, 2004. Directors attending are: E.N. Evenson, C. Bales, J.
Allard, C. Nesmith, J. Huss and D. Hashin. Motion by J.K. Muller and J.
Nelson to cover the normal expenses of registration, lodging, per diem,
and transportation, with all concurring. R. Reinhart and D. Hashin will
handle the arrangements.
COMMITTEES
LABOR MANAGEMENT RELATIONS COMMITTEE: (Held Wednesday, September 8, 2004)
Reviewed pending issues from the previous meetings. No significant
updates.
o Bridge Money: Discussion held.
o Seniority Policy: Reviewed and returned to Department for minor language
corrections.
o Health Care Plans: Open Enrollment is scheduled for CalPERS - October 15
(via mail) and for the City Plans of vision and dental between NOV and
DEC. Additional information will be made available when it is determined.
o Negotiations: The City is planning on hiring a Labor Negotiator to
handle the City's negotiations with the POA and some of the other groups.
She is Renee Mayne, and the POA Board of Directors has a scheduled meeting
to meet her on Friday, September 10th.
NEGOTIATIONS COMMITTEE: R. Reinhart reviewed a recent response of a memo
he had received from Clay Martin as to the status of POA contract
negotiations. No date has been set to return to the table yet, but it is
believed to be sometime in October.
ACTIVITIES:
September 12 - HBPD Retirement Party, Meadowlark Golf Course
ADJOURNMENT: This meeting was adjourned at 17:25 hours to reconvene at
15:30 hours on Wednesday, October 6, 2004.
