OLD BUSINESS
BUSINESS OFFICE: J. Nelson had contacted the
landlord however, no lease agreement was available as of yet. He did
pass out keys to the Board of Directors. Motion by A. Preece and J.
Nelson to authorize R. Reinhart to sign the lease agreement on behalf
of the Association, with all concurring.
POA MEMBERSHIP CARD: R. Reinhart again
presented the idea of having an Association Membership Card, which
would have important telephone numbers on it and advice for critical
incidents. Discussion held. Recommendation was made to post the
necessary information on critical incidents on the web site.
PORAC INSURANCE: R. Reinhart said the PORAC’s
Insurance & Benefits Trust has had some problems with insurance
representatives being non-responsive to members needs and general
complaints about the vendors. R. Reinhart said that since the last
Orange County PORAC Chapter Meeting he has received correspondence
from some of the insurance vendors: AFLAC; Myers-Stevens.
R. Reinhart said that any members with insurance
held with any of the PORAC vendors can file complaints with the I&B
Trust/ Committee of PORAC at 800-937-6722 or with the Region IV
Representative: Charles Gouge at 619-531-4391.
D. Hashin said that he had received a membership
list from Myers-Stevens to verify for the basic group insurance
coverage offered by PORAC for the membership and found it to be
grossly inaccurate. He will be trying to correct the list.
NEW BUSINESS
POA CHRISTMAS PARTY: The Annual POA Christmas
Party has been scheduled for Sunday, December 7, 2003, at the Hyatt
Regency Huntington Beach Resort & Spa. At the last POA/ Senior Staff
Meeting Chuck Thomas inquired about trying to make the POA Party the
"Department Party." Discussion was held regarding that if we were
trying to ultimately have one party then the PMA Holiday Party would
have to be canceled for it gave the impression of a divided department
still.
After lengthy discussion it was the decision to let
our membership decide how they would want to approach this. Motion by
A. Preece and J. Nelson to table any decision until the September
General Membership Meeting, with all concurring.
