Board of Director's -- FEBRUARY -- Regular Meeting
CALL TO ORDER: Wednesday, February 13, 2002 - President R. Reinhart convened
the meeting to order at 20:00 hours.
ROLL CALL: R. Reinhart, President; J.K. Muller, Vice-President; J. Huss,
Secretary; D. Hashin, Treasurer; A. Preece, Sergeant-at-Arms/ Director; B.
Reed, Director (ABS); R. Frahm, Director; S. Ekstedt, Director; G. Coerper,
Director.
OTHER MEMBERS PRESENT: J. McMillan.
GUESTS: M. Reid.
MINUTES: Minutes provided for approval of the December 12, 2001 and January 9,
2002 meetings. Motion by G. Coerper and J.K. Muller to accept, with all
concurring.
TREASURER REPORT: D. Hashin distributed the February's Treasurer's Report and
gave an overview of the POA's accounts and balance(s). Motion by J.K. Muller
and S. Ekstedt to accept the Treasurer's Report with all concurring.
EXCUTIVE SESSION: Lengthy discussion held on the ongoing court cases,
especially the Opp Case (which involves a former POA member) and the City and
members of the police department administration. Review of City Council
closed/ open session requirements for indemnification under the California
Government Code.
OLD BUSINESS
LAWSUIT(S): R. Reinhart gave an update as to the current lawsuit(s) involving
the City and/ or Department. He stated that the Opp vs City of Huntington
Beach et al will open with phase two tomorrow (punitive phase). On February
25, 2002 the City of Huntington Beach vs POA (Range Lawsuit) will be heard and
their has been an amended complaint by the City as well.
GET-TOGETHER: J. Huss said that the Honorary Members Group get-TOGETHER was
very successful and expressed thanks to those members who made it a success.
NEW BUSINESS
OC PORAC CHAPTER: R. Reinhart requested permission to host the March 12, 2002
meeting of the Orange County PORAC Chapter at SeaCliff Country Club. Motion by
J.K. Muller and G. Coerper to do so under our Social Membership with costs not
to exceed $250.00, with all concurring.
ACTIVITIES:
Ø April 20-21, Baker to Vegas Challenge Cup Relay Race
ADJOURNMENT: This meeting was adjourned at 21:45 hours to reconvene at 17:30
hours on Wednesday, February 27, 2002.
